Chapel Down Group Visits 2013
We welcome group tours all year round (min 15 people), but ONLY BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT. Group rates start at £7.00 per person and we are able to arrange joint itineraries with other local attractions including Smallhythe Place (NT), The Kent and East Sussex Railway, Godinton House and Gardens and Great Dixter House and Gardens.
During the tour your experienced guide will explain about the history of English Wine, the methods we use in the vineyards and the reasons for the grapes we choose to grow. The tour continues in the Winery where you will learn about the processes behind the production of our Award-winning still and sparkling wines.
To complete the experience, all tours include a tasting of a selection of our award winning-wines. (Apple Juice is offered to children under 18 and drivers). Although visitors are invited to wander around our vineyards, grounds and herb garden unaccompanied, access to the Chapel Down Winery is strictly for those accompanied on the Guided Tour ONLY.
If your group would like to extend your tour we can offer an extended wine tasting session or a cheese and wine tasting after the tour (minimum of 15 people, arranged in advance of your visit). If you would also like refreshments to be provided before or after the tour please call us to discuss your requirements.

Merlin Balloons at Chapel Down
Chapel Down and Merlin Balloons have teamed up to offer our corporate guests an experience they will never forget.
Corporate balloon flights are now available from Chapel Down for groups of between 6 and 12 people. The balloon itself can be branded and members of your party can get involved with the inflation, after which you will take to the skies for a fantastic flight over the vineyards and surrounding countryside. The flight will last for approximately one hour and upon landing the experience is made complete with a glass of Chapel Down fizz. Merlin Balloons use the winery as one of their regular scheduled launch sites and can also offer exclusive flights for 2 people celebrating a special occasion.

Chapel Down Corporate Tastings
Have you ever considered holding a wine tasting evening with a difference? Why not hold a wine tasting for your staff and/or clients that is both entertaining and informative and guaranteed to surprise and delight your guests?
We regularly host wine tasting evenings for corporate clients, wine clubs and social groups throughout SE England. We can offer a highly flexible and entertaining talk and tasting evening with the format tailored to suit the requirements of the specific audience.
One of our experienced members of the team will guide the audience through an entertaining and informative history of wines in England, the place of Chapel Down today within the English Wines Industry and its rise to prominence on the world stage. We realise that some groups appreciate a more technical approach, so if requested we can also cover the more technical areas of viticulture and oenology.
We will then take your group through a tutored tasting of our most premium wines to showcase the best in English Winemaking. We will usually sample approximately 5 or 6 wines including our Award-winning sparkling wines. The selection can be tailored to your wishes. We can even add our fantastic beers to the tasting at the end. All guests who attend one of our wine tastings will be offered the opportunity at the end of the evening to purchase wines at special offer prices.
Most groups like to keep the evening fun and informal and we can also offer a wine quiz or a demonstration of the art of sabrage (removing a cork from the sparkling wine with a sword) dependent on group size.
We can accommodate any size of group at your preferred venue and should you wish to hold the function here at Tenterden we can comfortably accommodate groups of between 15 and 50.
Costs are entirely dependent on the format of the evening and the size of your group.
