Designed and built by local artisans, using the materials used in the winemaking process and set in landscaped grounds, including over 22 acres of vineyards, the winery gives English wine a home to be proud of.
The Wine and Fine Food Store is open to visitors 7 days a week throughout the year from 10.00am to 5.00pm where our staff are more than happy to talk to you about the wines and offer tastings.
Visitors are free to stroll in the grounds including the beautiful old Herb Garden (which is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies) and the vineyards. Vineyard maps and trails are also available to collect in store. Access to the working winery is strictly by guided tour only.
Here at Chapel Down we have a variety of tasting and tour experiences to meet your needs, whether its Corporate Tastings, Guided Toursand Group Tours or a Gift Experience. Each offers you the opportunity to taste some of the UK finest wines.
We now have a walking map which takes you on a circular walk from the winery through some beautiful local countryside and back again. The walk is approximately 3.5 miles long and should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Download more details and a copy of the circular walk here.

Our Award Winning Winery Visitor Experience
The Chapel Down Winery has been named Best Leisure and Tourism Business 2010 at the annual Kent Excellence in Business Awards which took place on the 1st July 2010. The Winery beat finalists including Leeds Castle to win the accolade and we are extremely proud of our retail and tourism team for this wonderful achievement.
We are delighted to announce that following on from the success of the Keiba Awards above The Chapel Down Winery has also been awarded a Silver Award at the Tourism South East Awards 2010. At the ceremony on 21st October the winery came second in the 'Flavour of the South East' category which awards excellence in Food and Drink related Tourism from businesses right across the south east of England from Hampshire to Kent.
Chapel Down has been named 'Kent's Best Vineyard' at the Taste of Kent Awards run by Produced in Kent, the award ceremony took place on Friday 25th February at Leeds Castle. Another great achievement for the whole team.
Merlin Balloons at Chapel Down
Chapel Down and Merlin Balloons have teamed up to offer our corporate guests an experience they will never forget.
Corporate balloon flights are now available from Chapel Down for groups of between 6 and 12 people. The balloon itself can be branded and members of your party can get involved with the inflation, after which you will take to the skies for a fantastic flight over the vineyards and surrounding countryside. The flight will last for approximately one hour and upon landing the experience is made complete with a glass of Chapel Down fizz. Merlin Balloons use the winery as one of their regular scheduled launch sites and can also offer exclusive flights for 2 people celebrating a special occasion.
