Chapel Down sponsors the Chapel Down Handicap Stakes at Ascot Racecourse this September

We are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of a race at Ascot, one of the world’s most prestigious racecourses.  The ‘Chapel Down Handicap Stakes’ will take place at the Ascot Festival of Food & Wine on Saturday 9th September.

This follows our announcement earlier this year that Chapel Down wines are now served in bars and restaurants across Ascot Racecourse.  Our sparkling wine displaced the racecourse’s entry-level Champagne and confounded ambitious expectations with 5,000 bottles sold during Royal Ascot week alone.  We have also hosted pop-up bars at key racedays this summer too.

The four day festival next, which runs from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th September, will celebrate the very best of British food and drink from over 140 producers during one of the popular racing weekends of the summer. We will be serving a range of both sparkling and still wines, together with our Curious Brew lager, from the Chapel Down Chalet within the Food & Drink festival area throughout the four days.

In celebration of our race sponsorship, we are giving away five pairs of tickets to Ascot racecourse on Saturday 9th September.  Click here to enter or for full details of the competition please visit our Ascot Competition page.

Jonathan Parker, Director of Food & Beverage at Ascot Racecourse, said: “Quality food and drink is an important part of the Ascot Racecourse offering and we are delighted to welcome Chapel Down as a race sponsor.

“The Festival of Food & Wine Racing Weekend in September is a culinary highlight, combining two days of exhilarating Flat racing with a four-day celebration of food and wine and we are sure that Chapel Down will continue to be a success amongst our racegoers.”

The Ascot race sponsorship is the latest in a list of British partnerships for us.  Earlier this year, we became the official wine partner to the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Races, and is also an official wine partner to the Royal Opera House, London Symphony Orchestra, The Donmar Warehouse theatre and the Curious Arts Festival.
